Apiti Dance
This is an interesting dance in Acholi culture and normally performed after the harvest by young women and medium aged women who express their solidarity by beating the ground with their feet to prove to their husbands their appreciation of the effort made to grow enough food for the family.
The women normally dress in a uniform pattern organized from kikoyi, running fro the waist down to almost their ankle joint and their chest well dressed not exposed as point of respect of marriage. They move in a round uniform pattern with a referee whistling to make sure the drums , song and dance go uniformly.
Every body expressing happiness and hope for a peaceful stay since there is food security and good health.
